“PENNY JAR”

During the celebration of God's gifts, the children of Holy Cross donate their coins putting them in the penny jar, located at the front of the sanctuary.

The money collected in 2008 in our Penny Jar will go to help our community through HopeLink.

FOOD BANK DONATIONS

As a reminder of seeing Christ in the world, as stated

as you do it to the least of these, you do to me,

Holy Cross keeps a shopping cart  in the narthex.

Donations placed in the cart are given to the food bank at Hope Link.

SPEAKING OUT FOR JUSTICE

Kairos: A time to speak; a time to act.

Holy Cross is deeply committed to issues of Christian Justice.

By participating and by signing the Kairos statement, we tell the world that Christians have been silent too long   We declare that:

We have been afraid to speak out against our country's use of violence in the world and the drive for self-interest above other considerations.

Holy Cross continues to stand up for social issues in our community, the nation, and the world.

  • Donate items for auction at the LPPO fund raiser.
  • Participate in Faith Advocacy day in Olympia.
  • Invite fellow advocates to participate in discussion of advocacy.

SHARING A DINNER...
to end homelessness

Holy Cross serves dinners and desserts several times a year to assist people working to get back into permanent housing.

We invite you to join us in this mission of ending homelessness!

Call the church for a contact and information what we have scheduled.

Several times a year, Holy Cross provides meals to Tent City 4.  In addition to providing meals, Holy Cross has partnered with others helping them feel confident in serving meals themselves.  Finally, Holy Cross provides a checklist and menus for others to use when planning to serve.

Holy Cross serves dinner, provides a dessert, and joins in worship at the Compass Center several times a year.

We provide dinner and conversation for men in the "Congregations for the Homeless" program.  We are scheduled for serving on the last week of September.
